10 Places to Find In-Kind Donations for Your Nonprofit |
|
|
As we head into Thanksgiving week in the U.S., I am thinking a lot about community generosity and how critical it is for keeping nonprofits running all year long.
While donations often mean dollars, in-kind gifts like donated goods, services, or expertise, can be just as valuable. From technology and furniture to food and pro bono service, these gifts stretch your budget and help you serve more people.
So in this week’s Changemaker Mondays ☀️ ☕ 🌍, I’m sharing 10 trusted places (plus a few bonus places!) to find in-kind donations that can help your organization grow, save money, and give thanks for the power of community.

Changemaker Mondays is brought to you by:
Attract new donors this Giving Season (and keep them coming back)
Strong donor relationships are the backbone of your nonprofit’s success - but keeping supporters engaged takes ongoing effort.
That’s where our sponsor, Click & Pledge, comes in. Their platform makes it simple to cultivate donors and encourage giving online, all at a price point built for nonprofits.
With Click & Pledge, you’ll get professional-grade tools to power your fundraising, including customizable peer-to-peer campaign pages, donor portals for managing accounts and transactions, text-to-give options, and even virtual event and video fundraising. Plus, their guides and templates help you launch successful campaigns during giving season and beyond.
Best of all, every feature is included—no contracts, no hidden add-on fees. And unlike other platforms, Click & Pledge’s pricing stays the same whether you have 10 donors or 10,000.

More Than Just One-Time Savings
I like to point out that in-kind donations are not just about saving money. They are also about building relationships. Every donated product or service connects you to a new partner, volunteer, or company that believes in your mission. Over time, those connections can grow into long-term supporters, collaborators, and even donors. I've seen this happen first-hand.
💡 Pro Tip: When applying for in-kind donations, be specific about what you need and how it will be used. Companies love seeing the tangible impact of their contributions. For example, “$1,000 worth of school supplies will help 200 students start the year strong.”
Where to Find In-Kind Donations
This is not a comprehensive list (SO many great resources out there!), but it's a good starting point:
Good360Connects nonprofits with donated products from top retailers and manufacturers, from furniture to personal care items.
TechSoup Offers donated and discounted software, hardware, and tech tools from companies like Microsoft, Adobe, and Zoom.
DonationMatch Matches nonprofits with businesses offering in-kind donations for events, auctions, or raffles.
NAEIR (National Association for the Exchange of Industrial Resources) Provides free donated products like school, office, and maintenance supplies to approved nonprofits.
TheShareWay A tool for searching for, applying for, and tracking in-kind donations. Catchafire Matches skilled volunteers with nonprofits to complete short-term and long-term projects. A great way to receive in-kind professional services like graphic design, marketing, or strategy support.
Double the Donation’s Corporate Giving Directory Searchable database of major companies that offer in-kind donations, perfect for identifying potential partners.
The Furniture Bank Network Offers gently used furniture and household goods for nonprofits serving families transitioning out of homelessness or crisis.
Feeding America’s Food Bank Network Connects local nonprofits with donated food and grocery products through regional food banks. Digitunity or PCs for People Does your nonprofit need donated laptops or computers to better serve your communities? You can apply to receive equipment on these sites.
A Few Honorable Mentions
- Grocery Stores: I’ve been able to get numerous gift cards to buy needed supplies for charitable projects by just walking up to the customer service desk with my nonprofit’s 501c3 tax exemption letter from the IRS and asking nicely. Here are donation request links for Wegmans, Harris Teeter, Publix, Meijer, and Sprouts to give you a head start. 🙂
- Local Tools Library: Need some tools for a nonprofit project? Check the Local Tools Library to see if you have one near you. Renting out tools may or may not be free, but it’ll at least be cheaper than buying them (and storing them) outright!
Generosity really does come in all shapes and sizes!
Try it this week 🚀
Haven't tapped into In-Kind donations yet? Take 15 minutes to jot down what kinds of in-kind support could help your organization most right now: technology, supplies, pro bono services, etc.
Then, pick one resource from this list and explore what it takes to sign up or apply. You might discover your next big partnership (or save your team hours of work) before the year’s even over.
